LYNDSEY VICKNAIR
The Chapman Firm has lost a cherished colleague, friend and family member. Lyndsey Vicknair passed away after falling victim to a senseless shooting that occurred on June 15 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, Texas.
Lyndsey was born on December 31, 1990, to Bobby and Lena Captain. Lyndsey was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband of seven years, Kevin, and their three young children: Kenzi (7), Kairo (4), and Kya (1).
Lyndsey graduated from Mansfield High School in 2008 and earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Prairie View A&M University in 2010. She furthered her education by earning a J.D. from South Texas College of Law (2013), an LL.M. in Entertainment & Media Law from Southwestern Law School (2015), and an MLS in Oil, Gas & Energy from the University of Oklahoma (2020).

CLARENCE VINKLAREK, ACEA COFOUNDER
Clarence Leon Vinklarek passed away on April 20 in Smithville, Texas. He was born on October 20, 1938 in Kovar, Texas to Vencil and Mary Vinklarek. He was the oldest of nine children.
Clarence attended school in Smithville, where he graduated in 1956. After high school, he briefly attended and played football at Allen Military Academy before returning home to be with his sweetheart Betty Meyer of Bastrop. Clarence and Betty were married in 1958 and resided in Austin, where they had four children—Paul, Tamara, Steven and Michael.
After starting a successful construction company, Clarence moved the family back to Bastrop County where he and Betty raised their children. He operated his company and worked in the utility construction industry for the next 40 years. During that time, in addition to his involvement with various organizations, he co-founded the Austin Contractor & Engineers Association in 1983.
ACQUISITIONS
ATWELL ACQUIRED BISCAYNE ENGINEERING
Atwell acquired Biscayne Engineering, an engineering and surveying company with offices in Miami and Boca Raton, Florida. This acquisition expands Atwell’s presence in Florida, adding 50+ employees to the company’s first office in Miami. This is Atwell’s third acquisition of 2024 and second in Florida.
FERGUSON ACQUISITIONS
Ferguson announced the closing of four acquisitions: Southwest Geo-Solutions, Inc. (GeoSolutions), AVCO Supply, Inc., GAR Engineering and Safe Step Tubs of Minnesota. In total, the company has closed on eight acquisitions this fiscal year, ending July 31, 2024.
